Chan Hong Meng, the owner of the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred meal, lost his star

The peddler Chan Hong Meng, acclaimed for his delicious soy chicken and rice dish and offering the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred meal to his customers, lost his only Michelin star. The Hawker Chan mobile bench in Singapore, which won the Michelin star in 2016, is no longer featured in the 2021 edition of the red guide.

The reason why the famous peddler lost its Michelin star was cited as the reason why Hawker Chan, after its Michelin reputation, expanded and turned into a franchise restaurant, opening in Thailand, the Philippines, and other locations.
