Joan Roca is the chef of the restaurant El Celler de Can Roca. (The restaurant won so many awards; in 2013 and 2015, it was named the best restaurant in the world by the The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. It was also ranked the second best restaurant in the world in 2011, 2012 and 2014. El Celler de Can Roca is currently the 3rd best restaurant in the World). Joan Roca studied in Escola d’Hosteleria de Girona, where later he became a tutor. He worked with his family members in their family business, a restaurant that serves traditional Catalan cuisine. Today Joan Roca is the chef of his own restaurant, together with his two brothers Josep and Jordi Roca. He intertwines traditional cuisine with avant-garde techniques.
