Virgilio Martínez a Peruvian chef and restaurateur. He is considered one of the important new generation chefs who promotes Peruvian cuisine in a successful way. He uses local Peruvian products and cooks them with modern techniques. He also considered as “the new star of Lima’s gastro sky.”His flagship restaurant Central Restaurante entered as number 50 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list at 2013. In 2014, the restaurant jumped 35 places to number 15, winning the “Highest Climber” award. His restaurant also was chosen as Latin America’s best restaurant. Currently his restaurant is the 2nd best restaurant of Latin America and the 5th best restaurant of the World according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List.
