According to the American Express One To Watch, Eat & Cook is the hottest new restaurant in Asia!

An omakase-style restaurant serves modern interpretations of classic Malaysian dishes. Eat & Cook stands out as a rising star in Asian gastronomy before Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 award ceremony, which will take place on March 29. The restaurant in Kuala Lumpur has been named American Express One To Watch as part of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna. Chefs Lee Zhe Xi and Soh Yong Zhi are behind the success, a first for a Malaysian restaurant.

Due to the availability and quality of local produce, the menu changes daily. Chefs Lee Zhe Xi and Soh Yong Zhi get inspired by traditional family recipes and they add a modern twist from French and Italian cuisine.The signature dish of the restaurant Ipoh mountain duck is served with Choy with burnt ham, herbed duck legs, duck liver with chocolate. The traditional Malay Ikan soup flavored with truffle aioli and Assamese prawns served with fried garlic, shrimp shell oil, and burnt corn are among the other notable delicacies of the menu.

The past winners of American Express One To Watch are Meta in Singapore, Masque in Mumbai, JL Studio in Taichung, Toyo Eatery in Manila, TocToc in Seoul, and Florilège in Tokyo. The achievements of Eat & Cook will be celebrated at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 awards ceremony on March 29.
